Where the natives once lived, in the western North of Long Island, there is a village called Montauk. The Island from Brooklyn and Queens in the eastern South to Montauk is about 120 Miles long. In between are the Hamptons, where the rich are said to spend the weekends, summers and winters. Most of the places we visited appear overcleaned and overdesigned, like a new museum for old people.
